You have time - we can put it to good use!

Welcome to our Volunteer Programme!  Here you can read an overview of our history of engaging volunteers, the criteria for recruitment, areas within the project where volunteers get involved and how to go about applying.

Volunteer Programme

We have worked with over 190 volunteers over the past decade.  In fact over 40 weekly volunteers play a key role alongside staff in facilitating a supportive and welcoming service by carrying out many roles throughout the project in areas such as: reception, counseling, holistic therapies & wellness programme, meals programme, membership support, tutoring/teaching, members’ social groups. We also have volunteers assisting with our community outreach & befriending programme within the wider community.

We ask anyone considering volunteering with us to make a commitment of at least 1 year.  Awareness of the importance of confidentiality, reliability and an interest in challenging the stigma of hiv and promoting a strong sense of community are key aspects.  Particular skills and experience within the social care field and experience in the homeless and addiction services are beneficial, though not a requirement for all volunteer roles.
