Open heart House in conjunction with the National Learning Network (NLN) have commenced an innovative Employment Training and Preparation Programme for women.

This programme is supported and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Human Capital Investment Programme 2007-2013 (HCI OP); and also the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform through the Equality for Women Measure and the National Women’s Strategy.

The Programme is a pilot programme to run over 6 months. During the 6 months Paul Hodkinson (Vocational Instructor with the National Learning Network) will work with a group of up to 44 women over a 6 month period. 14 of the women will do group work over a 3 month period, which will then run again for another 14 women.

Some of the areas that will be focused upon shall be :

•    VT Lifeskills Assessment
•    Exploring Vocational Areas of interest
•    CV Preparation and Cover letter
•    Interview Skills
•    Job Applications
•    Work Experience
•    Course sampling with the National Learning Network
•    Confidence building
•    Communication skills
•    Enhance I.T skills
